I got the job I wanted, as a computer programmer, based solely on my endless hours sitting in a room with in front of various computers. Everybody always told me I needed a degree in order to get this job but as it turned out I simply needed to be both good at it and have a passion for it. I did/do so I got the job.
About two an half years ago I visited Japan. Whilst I was there I decided I wanted to work there and attended a job interview. The hiring company wanted me and my skills but much to my dismay I learned that I needed either 10 years of on the job experience or a bachelors degree to get a working visa.
Back to the present I am still working towards a working visa but doing so is proving to be difficult since I am not in a position where I can sacrifice my job in order to concentrate on school.
This semesters courses are:
- Japanese 4 (continuing study of the Japanese language)
- Chinese 16A/B/C (3 units of Chinese characters hanzi)
- College Algebra (yeah yeah I know; a programmer still in algebra!? long story)
- Java Programming for Micro Devices (aka cell phones, PDAs, etc...)
Thats all for now folks. :)
